The top cross-country skiers are all set, the competitors in it for fun are all set, and as for the organisers, they’re champing at the bit ahead of this year’s Alliansloppet race in Trollhättan on 23–27 August. This year is the tenth anniversary of the Alliansloppet race and Zetup has been there from day one. It’s time to celebrate!
Saturday is expected to see a mighty battle between Calle Halvarsson and Petter Northug. They’ll also be facing stiff competition from many of the world’s foremost cross-country skiers in a fight for first place in the world’s biggest rollerski event.
Saturday’s race, which will be televised live, is the high point of the week, but there’s a lot more going on too. Wednesday was the Skoljoggen event for all primary school children in Trollhättan. Naturally everyone’s a winner, making it a great start to the autumn term.
Over the next few days there will be fun walking and running races for adults and children, as well as sprints and hill races on rollerskis.
Swedish and Norwegian junior women wrestlers will also be competing on Friday in a unique international event.
The mountain biking race on Sunday is new this year, geared towards both fitness and competitive cyclists (31 km/62 km).
